Allen has been in the fishing industry for over 25 years working on a few different vessels over his fishing career, when he finally decided that it was time to get his own vessel.  We purchased our first vessel the WM ISAAC in 2003 and then the Benjamin Charles in 2013.  Together we own and operate Robichaud Commercial Fishing and Robichaud Slingin Fins that is located in Neyaashiinigmiing, ON

We are a family run business with Allen being the Captain, Jordane manages, our sons work on the boat as deck hands and at Slingin Fins, our sister Julie is the friendly face that takes your orders at the boat door, her daughter Rachel helps out on the boat and at the shop, our nephew Keedan works on the boat as a deckhand/comedian.  We also have a few deckhands that we have and consider family, with out them we wouldn't be here. 

Have you ever wondered what a day looks like for a Robichaud Commercial fisherman? well we can tell ya!

4:30AM  Wake up alarm and calling of the crew, getting ready and gathering  items, clothes, ice, boxes, food, etc..

5:30AM heading out the door

6:30AM gathering of the crew and heading to the boat, mandatory Tims stop

7:30AM Boat warm up and getting ready to head out

8:30AM arrive at the fishing grounds and begin the lift or set

              Setting and lifting times vary as setting takes alot less time than lifting.

              Setting estimates at 2 or 3 hours setting

              Lifting estimates roughly 4 or 5 hours depending on the catch size.

               Setting back day add about 3 hours 

3:00PM we arrive back at the dock, tie on to the dock, get our fileting stations ready

3:30PM we begin taking orders and getting the fish ready for processing.

               Orders stay open for approx 4 hours, this is the time the orders start dying down.

7:00PM we clean up, pack up and get ready to leave the dock

7:30PM we drop off fish to local fish buyer

8:00PM drop off fish to our shop Slingin Fins and then drop off crew and head home! 

This is a general idea of estimated times as this is fishing and anything can and will happen that could make your day either a good one or a very bad one
